Monthly Goals for August 2019
Oh boy, what a month July was! I don’t even know where to begin! Let’s talk about life and our monthly goals for August!
We have a few more days in July so I am going to do my best to wrap up some of the goals I did not accomplish!
Well, let me begin by saying I failed at several of my goals for July! I will get into all that in a bit. Let’s say I lost my motivation for a few weeks.
Firstly, I am a routine kind of guy. I can’t help it. I like to fall into a routine and stick to it! If I fall out of that routine for whatever reason, it is difficult for me to get it going again.
Secondly, it is getting harder to maintain my budgeting and all of these things I am doing to become debt-free! We have discussed this before, and we will repeat it. This journey is HARD!
Anyways, let’s get into the updates and my list of monthly goals for August.
First of all, my vacation is over. I am so glad it is. I was getting so bored. Of course, I did things out of my ordinary and left town for vacation. That knocked me out of my routine, and I am just now finding my way again.
The sad part is, as bored as I was and for as long as I was on vacation, my goal failures are frustrating!
I checked into a new command recently, so that is always fun, but I think I am going to enjoy this tour. I hope I do anyway!
For those that don’t know, I am in the military, so I go to new places every few years.
I went to see my folks. That was fun. I don’t get to see them as often as I would like, so it is always good when I can go home. I still call it home even though I haven’t lived there for over 20 years now lol.
The best thing about this month is I still haven’t touched a cigarette! As of writing this, I am 73 days and 9 hours cigarette free!
My monthly goals for August will be a little short. I will be focusing on establishing myself in my new command, so I will be quite drained mentally and physically during the week for the next month or so!
Monthly Goals for August for Life and the Blog
If you haven’t read my July goals you may want to do that so you can see what my goals were. I accomplished all of them unless otherwise listed here as a failure! Also, my failures listed below will make more sense if you know what my goals were!
1. REGAIN MY FITNESS MOTIVATION.
Yep, I lost this too. I was doing good for several months and had improved so much. I fell off that wagon, and I need to start again! Further, as you probably already figured out, I failed my July goal of running 35 miles for the month! I think I only ran 8 miles.
2. CREATE A MEDIA KIT!!
Yes, this was my goal or July. I failed this goal and have not even started! I must get this done as soon as possible. I want to start reaching out and trying to land a few sponsored posts.
3. EXTRA INCOME GOALS.
These are all the things I do day in and day out to help me reach my financial freedom goals!
Not all of these will work for everyone. I want to tell you all about the things that work well for me. On top of that, only one of these services will cost you any extra money! The rest of them are free to join and utilize, so there is absolutely nothing to lose by trying them out.
If they don’t work as well for you or you don’t find value in them, nothing is lost. I do believe, however, that setting an extra income monthly goal for August is important! We won’t find success in this journey without some extra cash!
So far, my best month for Survey Junkie is just over 150 dollars for one month. I want to break that record and shoot for 200 dollars in August!
Listen, I am not going to blow smoke and tell you this is easy. Well, let me rephrase. It is easy, super easy! However, it is time-consuming. I spend, on average, 45 minutes or longer per day doing online surveys! It is extremely boring!
To break 200 dollars this month, I will probably be over an hour per day doing surveys. But, listen, if you have the time to invest, then check it out! It is free to sign up, so you have NOTHING to lose to give it a try! If you don’t like it, then move on. No harm no foul right?
Now you want to know some easier ways to save some money?
Check out Ibotta! You can earn 10 percent cashback on your entire purchase at popular stores! Some of the places it works, for example, are Chipotle, Auto Zone, Foot Locker, Amazon, Home Depot, and Jersey Mikes!
Trim is another excellent way to save money, and it is autopilot. You set it up, link your accounts to it such as your cable and cell phone bills. Trim will find you savings for these bills and more! It can also help you with your budget!
Digit is another great money-saving tool that is also on autopilot! You link your bank account to Digit, and it saves money for you. Digit withdrawals money automatically, however much its algorithm decided you can afford and put it in a sperate account! I absolutely LOVE Digit because I am terrible at saving money for the most part!
5 Dollar Meal Plan has been outstanding for both myself and my lovely wife! I mean come on, they send us meal plans with grocery lists weekly! All we have to do is buy the ingredients and make the food! So easy and so cheap and the meals are inexpensive as well. Two dollars per person or less to make most of these meals for the ingredients!!
There is also a 14-day free trial! This is the only service I have listed here that costs any extra money, but you have 14 days to try it out risk-free!
Last but not least, the Amazon Subscribe and Save Program is so awesome! You add all the items you buy all the time to Subscribe and Save, and it will automatically ship to you on the interval you select. If you add five things to be sent monthly, you save 15 percent!
Think about that. Toilet paper, body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, and mouthwash. Boom, I was able to add five items in 4 seconds that we continuously buy right. Now we save 15 percent just because we have Amazon auto-ship it to us instead of going to the store to buy it. As a result, we also keep our gas in our vehicle!!
4. FINISH THE UPSTAIRS BATHROOM
I did start a tiny remodel job in one of our bathrooms while I was on vacation and I didn’t finish it! I will get it done this month. The only thing left is a bit of drywall repair and some painting.
It all started because the mirror was hung so low! I had to duck to be able to see in the mirror. So, I raised the lights and the mirror.
5. GROW MY EMAIL SUBSCRIBER LIST
I need to grow my email list. So far, I have 20 people on it! I want to continue to grow this so I can stay in contact with all of you all the time. On that note, if you enjoy reading my articles, please, sign up for my newsletter! Somewhere on this page is a sign up for to use!
I created a few opt-ins for this purpose in July, but I ended up using them in a couple of posts. I want to make something better for my email subscribers!
6. GUEST POST!
Another goal from July that I did not accomplish. Will try again in August and hopefully will do better!
Last Month’s Wins
One of my goals was social media followers. I wanted to break 1k followers on Pinterest and 150 followers on Facebook. This goal was a success for the most part. I actually broke 1k Pinterest followers on 6 July and am now sitting at 1229.
Facebook followers didn’t go as good. My goal was 150 followers, and as of writing this with a few days left, I have 140 followers.
To Sum Up…
As I said, I wanted to keep this month on the lighter side for my goals and the things I want to work on at home. I will be focusing heavily on establishing myself at my new command.
This list for my monthly goals for August is achievable I believe even with my work schedule. I have to keep myself motivated to accomplish all of this though!
I do have a HUGE goal for either August or September. It is looking good for August, but we shall see! I am not going to announce this goal quite yet. Once I accomplish this goal, you will be able to read about it right here on Realities and Dreams!
YOUR TURN – What are your goals for August? Please, do NOT forget to write them down! Look at your list daily to stay on track. Let us know in the comments what your goals are!
